World War I
This graph shows that there were many military deaths during World War I. World War I was one of the most deadliest wars anybody has ever seen, and economy's were weakened because of it.
This chart shows that there were more military deaths than civilian deaths. There was more killing in battle, and less killing in towns with innocent civilians. 58% of all deaths in World War I were military deaths. All of these deaths weakened the economy.
Germany was blamed for causing World War I, so they were forced to pay reparations to pay for what they have done. The cartoon shows $55,000,000,000 in reparations sitting on top of Germany. This caused inflation in Germany and also put them in debt, which weakened their economy.
When World War I started, countries began spending more and more on military supplies. About $186 billion were spent on war expenses. This put some countries in debt and weakened their economy.
